Block printing is a traditional textile printing technique in which a design or pattern is carved into a wooden or linoleum block, which is then dipped in ink or dye and pressed onto fabric or paper to create a printed design. It's a labor-intensive and highly skilled method that has been used for centuries to produce intricate and beautiful textiles, especially in India.
