FIELD TRIPS
Schack Art Center offers school group visits to our 19,000 square foot facility on select dates throughout the year. The field trips include a docent-led tour of the exhibition, glass blowing demonstrations, hands-on art-making, artists demonstrations, and WA state standard-based curriculum. Grades K-12.

FIELD TRIP POLICIES + INFORMATION
Fees/Payment
$5 per student (scholarships of 25% off for qualifying schools)
Adults-FREE (see chaperone requirements below)
Payments due by check (mail or drop off) or credit card online (email)
Chaperones (including teachers)
Required chaperone to student ratios. K-5 grade is 1:6 | 6-12 grade is 1:10
Parking
90-minute free street parking is available for cars and buses on the surrounding streets.
Chaperone cars can park on the street or in EverPark Garage on 2815 Hoyt Ave for $1/hr.
Buses can park at the Transit Station, along the waterfront or a designated bus parking area 17 blocks from the Schack on Colby Avenue that is free for buses through Everett School District.
Arrival
Wait outside the front door of the Schack Art Center on Hoyt Avenue at your field trip start time. An Art Docent will come outside to greet your group.
Depending on size, most groups will be divided into two smaller groups. Half the group will tour while the other group participates in art making, and then switch. You can split into two groups beforehand to help.
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policies
Email as soon as possible if you need to reschedule and we will do our best to accommodate.
Cancel by emailing before 8 AM on the day of your trip.
Food/Drink & Lunch
No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries. Please leave all snacks and lunches on the bus. We do not have space to accommodate lunch or snacks.
Possible Lunch Location: Wetmore Theater Plaza 2710 Wetmore Ave. Outside venue that is nice and can accommodate large groups.
Possible Extensions
Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens- outdoor educational space filled with plant diversity and original art while being accessible to all. Docent Tours are available to groups of any size. Email to schedule contactus@evergreenarboretum.com
Everett Public Library Main branch- down the street and a fun option to schedule a visit while downtown. Check availability by emailing Jennifer Patterson at JPatterson@everettwa.gov
Public Art Downtown- excellent walking tour and provide an opportunity for students to practice observation and critical thinking skills while closely looking at public art.

Gallery Manners - SHARE WITH YOUR STUDENTS
DO NOT TOUCH THE ART! Look with your eyes, not your hands.
The gallery is open to the public, use quiet voices to not disturb others.
Walking feet, respect each other’s space.
Do not touch the pedestals (the stands for art)
